Anderson Guitarworks cannot really go anywhere, especially to the NAMM Show, without a Drop Top Classic or two in tow.
…or is that “…without a Drop Top Classic or toe into..”.into what?
No wait…okay…forget all that, I had it right the first time…
a Drop Top Classic or two in tow.
After all, Drop Top Classic has always been the consummate and quintessential guitar for many Anderson players—an extremely sculpted S-style guitar with the fancy maple top—the one that started it all. Before Drop Top Classic there was just no such instrument to be found anywhere—not until 1990 when we “dropped” the first top to create the guitar known as Drop Top. It was to become legendary—very nice, thank you.
The first of the two in tow is finished in one of our “natural” colors:
Key Lime Burst, was inspired by our Floridian friends (our Florida dealer), who requested that we do this magnificent natural wood and green amalgamation with an Anderson approach. The natural theme is farther furthered (or is that furthered farther) by the incorporation of an all-Maple neck, giving greater fluidity to the Floridian-inspired theme.
A nickel covered HC2 bridge humbucker pickup joins a balanced pair of SC1, hum-free single coils, covered in Coffee Dipped (off-white) covers, to top a proper Pearl White pickguard. These premier Anderson pickups, paired with the Alder-backed body, produce unparalleled tonal profundity—really, really good tone!
Keith Howland from the band Chicago has a penchant for green Anderson guitars, so when he walked into our NAMM booth, he dove head first toward the Key Lime Burst—and who could blame him. (Pictorial proof of this incident is posted above.)
So where else could this wonderful Key Lime Burst, Drop Top Classic go but to Florida and A1A Guitars and Art, where owner Jeffery D is taking very good care of it for you.
