All right, you got us! We do understand what Lisajeanne is talking about.

When put on the spot we have to humbly admit that it is more than cool to own an Atom—such an impressive guitar in every way. Those huge musical tones pervading and enriching everything you ply it to…and so smooth…like butter. Atom almost plays itself. This alone can be a very inspiring musical experience. It could turn your head.

There, we said it. You pried it out of us.

We can also appreciate that it could be considered special to own the very first featured Sweet & Sour Sauce Red, Atom to ever be seen in the annals of Guitar of the Week. And perhaps it is also fun to be personally featured in Guitar of the Week with the most amazing guitar you have ever owned.

But really!?

Does this all mean that Lisajeanne has to needle everyone who comes into her office—whether they play an Anderson yet or not?

Well, yes it does and no it doesn’t—all at the same time. Lisajeanne is far too nice of a person to be needling anyone because they have not yet discovered the playing bliss that an Anderson guitar can bring, that is for sure. And she knows that guitar players will discover soon enough what she already knows. But still, that does not stop her from doing a lot of needling.

Because she is a professional acupuncturist in San Diego, California, that’s why, and needling people is how she helps them. (See, she is very nice.) For her, needling is a good thing that helps many.

Lisa has been playing lead guitar in female rock bands since she was just a girl and holds a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar. She has happily been an Anderson Guitar Player for at least the last 10 years, trading licks on a Drop Top, two Classics and a Cobra. Atom has rocked her world and is currently her favorite guitar on this, or any other, planet. (Now we’re not implying that she does a lot of interplanetary travel with that last statement, so let’s just scratch that, “other planet,” stuff.)

As an acupuncturist, and a good soul, she is into things that make life better—for everyone. She strongly feels that music is healing. She says this about playing her Atom: “Music brings me into the ‘now.’ It makes me present in the moment, so I am not thinking about the future or the past. I can escape into the only real time—the present. Everything else falls away and I feel as if I have no boundaries and I am free—free to express myself—which is good for my mind, body and spirit.”

How does she get to this place?

Well for starters, Atom is not a heavy guitar but is as lightweight as any of our other models, topping out around the same as The Classic or a Cobra. Easy to strap on and gig all night long.

With Anderson’s Exclusive Stainless Steel frets—different than other stainless frets you may have heard about—the playing is smooth as silk and lightening fast with effortless bending and vibrato. Gorgeous tone abounds with a richer and fuller character than even our previous nickel frets. And if that wasn’t enough to make them the best thing to come along in decades, string life is also lengthened due to reduced friction. This all leads to the most enjoyable guitar playing you can ever experience. Of this there is no debate—only inexperience.

Strapping on or sitting down reveals Atom’s perfect balance. You may also notice a gentle tilt-back, neck-to-body geometry that begs you to play and coaxes from you your best performances as Atom’s inherently hardy Mahogany-based tone, focused by its top-mounted bridge and 24 3/4-inch scale-length, communicates clearly with musical midrange might.

Needling or noodling, it is obvious that Lisajeanne loves her Atom.
