Cajun Red with Binding

Harry Houdini was originally from Appleton, Wisconsin. Even today Appleton is home to the Houdini Historical Center. He is quite possibly the world’s most noted illusionist, magician and escape artist. His exploits are legendary. There was never a jail cell from which he could not free himself or handcuffs that could hold him—including a pair at England’s famous Scotland Yard. He is probably most known for his miraculous escapes from objects such as submerged packing crates, a giant milk can filled with water and his famous Chinese Water Torture Cell. He was truly an amazing but somewhat mysterious man. In fact little is know about his family, especially his children and their children’s children.

Another interesting fact is that Electric City Music is also located near Appleton Wisconsin. It is an absolutely wonderful store loaded with all the best gear and attended by some of the nicest people in the world. It is brought to you through the efforts of owner Jim Van Hoof—a great guy—and staffed by Chad, Jason and Dennis.

Dennis is a wonderfully talented musician and an expert at helping others select gear that will assist them in best expressing themselves musically—it’s a gift. Dennis chooses to play Anderson guitars. Did I mention that Dennis is highly intelligent? In fact he owns three Anderson guitars—a Translucent Plum (swamp ash) “Classic”, a Firemist Gold (alder) “Classic” with VA pickups and a Desert Sunset, “Cobra Special” with Soapbars. He also has a “T Classic” on order. Did I mention that Dennis is highly intelligent?

There is something else about Dennis, something rather mysterious. He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin. No one knows any details about his family—especially his great grandfather. He won’t carry a key to the store but always manages to get in and out with no extra effort. And then there is Dennis' milk can and large case that adorn the middle of the lobby of Electric City Music. From what our customer’s report, especially Frank who owns this radiant Cajun Red, Hollow Cobra with 3 cream-covered P-series pickups, Dennis is helpful, attentive and very knowledgeable but insists on a rather bizarre ritual of handling the Andersons when they arrive.

Apparently all in attendance at Electric City were blown away with the velvet feel and unrestrained playability of the satin-finished Cobra Standard neck profile and highly polished frets that support sleek, fast execution of all your favorite musical passages. It seems that everyone was in agreement that this instrument conversed with characteristic Anderson bounty and legibility allowing the three sonically-blessed P-series pickups to deliver such a variety of tonal color that a feeling of euphoria swept over all in attendance. “You can do anything with this guitar,” one exclaimed.

It was then that Frank noticed Dennis’ feet had been strapped to a platform. He was asking for the Hollow Cobra and wanted to be lowered into some kind of water cell. “Someone time me,” Dennis yelled from atop the devise. “Let’s see how long it takes me to escape with this Hollow Cobra strapped to my hands.” That is where Frank had to draw the line. Although Anderson guitars are built remarkably well, he knew they should not be dipped in large tanks of water. Dennis, being a reasonable guy, agreed to be immersed without Frank’s superb Hollow Cobra and everything ended well.

Yes Dennis is a gifted musician and a joyously fun person to be around who possesses sage musical advice. And yes it is quite possibly true that he can escape from nearly anything. But when you order your very own earth-shaking Tom Anderson guitar from him, remember…no tricks.
