Every day is a good day…a good day to be thankful. There are always blessings and opportunities surrounding us that can grow and flourish into something beautiful—something we need. When we are grateful, that awareness opens the door we had inadvertently closed and goodness can enter again.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the United States this coming week and happy wishes to all our friends around the world. It is good to have friends everywhere. With the advent of streamlined communications and transportation, it has become a very small planet and we are all part of a very close-knit global family. It is time we take advantage of this aspect. As you get to know others you quickly realize the vast majority want the same things—peace and a happy, safe environment for their families and themselves, where people assist each other to attain a greater good than they can do alone. This is how societies throughout all of history have ascended to greatness. And when this principle is forgotten, the society eventually declines into disillusionment. It is this paradigm that has been responsible for the rise and fall of dominant regimes throughout all of recorded human history. Cooperation and assistance change all that. How nice.
One man responsible for increasing the ease of communication and thus the opportunity for a more friendly and open society is Finn Mohring from Denmark. He works for Nokia, the world’s leading supplier of mobile phones—and more. Within the scope of his job, Finn is asked to travel to the United States once a year—to Dallas, Texas. It is there that Finn met Brian Harris, of the world famous Charley’s Guitar Shop. You see, Finn is also a musician and probably knows that music can be an elevated form of communication that easily and effectively crosses many different language barriers with no problem. It is one of music’s magic qualities.
Anyway, being a lover of superior guitars, how could Finn resist when Brian introduced him to a Fire-finished, Hollow Drop Top he had surreptitiously sequestered in their backroom? Furthermore, when Finn heard this Drop Top’s ability to project the extremely musical timbre of Swamp Ash forward by employing the attributes of a gorgeously flamed maple top and visually-undetectable hollow sound chambers, he couldn’t help but be impressed. But when he actually experienced the M1 pickups, in the neck and middle positions, as they roared to life, breathing huge single coil sound into the demo amp, there was no possible way of turning back. And as he stepped over the threshold and into the focused and yet full-bodied world of the H2+ humbucker, all was decided. A trip back home to Denmark was in order for Finn and this Fire, Hollow Drop Top.
