Bulldog Special

possesses all the specialness that has made our regular Bulldog such an instantly coveted instrument.

The Anderson wood shop begins the specialized venture of Bulldog Special creation with the formation of its Mahogany foundation.

Known as Pattern Grade Genuine Mahogany, it is the highest grade of Mahogany available and that is (of course) all we use.  You might think that would be good enough—and it could be—but we go beyond and literally hand–select each and every piece within the Pattern Grade Mahogany for its appearance, color and weight—to ensure everybody gets a Mahogany body Bulldog Special to love.

Once we get it home, the already kiln-dried wood is re–checked for moisture content and re-dried to perfection—just as we like it.

This is one of the reasons why Bulldog Special is not a heavy (weight-wise, I mean) instrument to strap on.  In fact, it is light enough to gig long hours into the night without fatigue—you've really got to love that!  Noticeably light and resonate is one of the characteristics that makes this Bulldog so Special.

Reaching the outer–most limits of the body's flat top and back surfaces, you are nestled by a soft-cut body-edge radius for that “I love to hold and play this guitar,” Anderson experience.

As with all our Bulldogs, this Special has the same structurally superior 3-on-a-side headstock, with:

• straight string pull
• flat headstock–to–neck angle  

This means that this Bulldog demonstrates unparalleled structural integrity and plays and stays remarkable in tune.  That in itself is an amazing playing experience to have everyday you pick it up. 

But of course that is not all, because Bulldog Special has a pure Anderson pedigree, its playability is like cascades of flowing music issuing forth, in tune, harmonically rich and enchantingly nimble to negotiate.
